Summoners War is a mobile turn-based strategy MMO game created by Com2us. Players, or summoners, unlock scrolls to summon powerful monsters, which they use in battles. The strength or overall combat ability of the monsters is rated by stars and can range from 1 to 5 stars. After gaining enough experience in battles they can be upgraded to 6 stars. This is a free “Freemium” game in which the developer makes money from microtransactions – mainly from players buying “crystals” (premium currency).
These Summoners War tips were designed to help newcomers begin their journey to becoming the strongest summoner possible. If we missed something or gave incorrect information, let us know!
1. Understand Elemental Relationships.
Elemental relationships are an important concept that you will use throughout the game. It’s like rock, paper, scissors: Water beats Fire, Fire beats Wind, and Wind beats Water. Light and Darkness are equally strong against each other. When your monster’s elemental attribute is stronger than the enemy’s, you gain what’s called “Elemental Advantage”.
Elemental Advantage – gives you +15% critical hit (CR) and an increased chance to deal a crushing blow (+30% damage). Monster (mon) CR can reach 100% when using runes, which gives very good damage.
The disadvantage of the elements – increases the chance to take a glancing blow (30% damage reduction), but because of the disadvantage it adds another 16% damage reduction, making a total of 46%. Sliding Strikes also block most of the harmful effects of skills.
2. lapis is a good starter.
Knight of Water Magic Lapis is a good starter monster that all players can get by going through Mt Siz in normal mode. It is a 4-star monster and a pretty decent one, especially if you put some good runes on it. Desperation runes synchronize very well with her AoE stun ability.
3. Participate in every event
Special events and holiday events are a great way to get lots of cool, unique and useful rewards. Be sure to follow all events and even follow Com2us’ social media updates. You can even get some crystals just by watching or attending the Summoners War World Arena Championship.
4. Climb the Rapture Trail.
The Ascension Trail is a PvE area that resets about every 30 days, erasing all player progress. It is recommended that you try to reach the 70th floor, as the reward for completing it is a devil-monk. There are other rewards you can get, and this is a great way to track your progress.
5. Go on raids
Once you have a strong team, it’s time to start building a raid team. You’ll have to complete the world boss battle once to unlock raids, but the rewards of raids are worth it. Remember that the units in front will cover the monsters behind them, and your leader’s skills will be applied to the entire team.
6. Obtain good runes.
Runes can make even the strongest monsters as useful as wet tissue paper, so make sure you equip them with the proper runes. The Giant’s Vault (located in the Kairos dungeon) will likely be the best place for you to find runes – at least while you’ve just started your journey.
7. Join a Guild
Joining a guild will allow you to participate in guild battles and earn guild points. These points can be exchanged for very good rewards, and some of them are exclusive, meaning they can only be bought with guild points.
8. Train Faimon / Aiden Farmers.
The Vulcan Faimon and Forest of Aiden scenarios give you a lot of experience points when you pass a level. It’s a good idea to raise the water and/or wind monster (whichever you choose for the farm) to a level where it can pass the level on its own. This way you can quickly level up your low level monsters.
9. Prioritizing in the Fame Store
When buying anything from the Fame Shop, you should make sure that you don’t spend the fame carelessly. Always try to buy a weekly Devolomon first, then you can buy some Mystic Scrolls or upgrade the Mysterious Plant and/or Energy Sanctuary. After that, you can invest in speed and damage towers or whatever else you deem necessary.
10. Lock Your Monsters
Locking a monster prevents you from accidentally choosing it to use as material in the Reinforcement Circle. So make sure you always lock important monsters right away to avoid costly mistakes.
