Big things are sprouting in Grow a Garden with the brand-new Update 1.20.0, and it’s easily one of the most jam-packed patches the game has seen in a while. From the wild Admin War to the expanded Beanstalk event, there’s a lot to dig into—literally.
The Chaos of Admin War
Mark your calendars: if you’re in-game dressed as a green bean on August 23, 2025 at 5:00 PM, you won’t want to miss the absolute mayhem of the Admin War. Expect over-the-top weather effects, exclusive rewards, rare mutations, and a healthy dose of chaos. I’ve seen past admin events, and let me tell you, the rewards are always worth the grind.
Beanstalk Part 2 – Higher, Wilder, Better
The Beanstalk climb just got a major overhaul. Now, on your way up, you might find yourself on one of four different types of beanstalks, including a shimmering golden one and even mushroom trampolines. The event shop high up in the clouds has a brand-new tab, crafting options, and loads of fresh rewards. Plus, if you’re feeling generous, you can feed the Giant to build friendship levels, unlocking yet another reward tab with seeds, pets, and rare items.
Garden Guide Grows Too
For collectors, the new Pet Achievements will be a big deal. They work a lot like plant achievements—seven rarities, each with XP boosts and special rewards. Finish them all, and you’ll unlock multiple unique items. The Level Reward Track UI also got an upgrade, letting you track your progress under the “Player” tab more easily.
New Plants and Pets
A whole bouquet of fresh flora has been added, including the Cyclamen, Flare Melon, Willowberry, Glowpod, Calla Lily, Snaparino Beanarini, and Crown of Thorns. On the animal side, the update introduces the mighty Griffin alongside several other new pets (and yes, some cheeky “admin abuse pets” too).
Items, Cosmetics, and Quality of Life
New loot drops include the Skyroot Chest (with pets and seeds inside), a Can of Beans for higher jumps, and multiple pet shards that can tweak mutations—from rainbow to giantbean to gold. There are even lollipops that instantly boost your pets’ levels (one maxes them out at 100).
For the builders and decorators, two new fence skins, an Egg Incubator, and a Mutation Machine Booster join the cosmetics list. And don’t miss the small but handy QoL tweaks: shops are snappier, sprinklers now have their own merchant, badges have been added, sounds updated, and bug fixes rolled out across the board.
Don’t Forget the Codes
And yes, for those who keep asking—there are still redeemable codes in the game to help you get a leg up. Keep an eye out; they tend to drop around big updates like this one.
This patch is one of those updates that feels like a game-changer. During the crazy Admin War, the big Beanstalk growth, and all the small fun parts, Grow a Garden now seems better than before.
