Secrets and tricks in Left to Survive

Last Updated on 01.04.2024

Left to Survive is an exciting mobile action game created by My.com. In fact, the game is a zombie shooter without full control over the character’s movement. But even in this form you will enjoy the action. In addition, in the title, each player has his own base to build up and improve. Finally, you can not only destroy zombies, but also fight with real gamers in PvP-mode. We will tell you what it is better to collect, what buildings and weapons to improve, who to shoot at and when in the first place.

How to build and develop a base (camp)

As mentioned before, Left to Survive has an urban component. Obviously, if you build objects randomly just as opportunities arise, you will soon run out of resources of a certain type. Also, you can only build or upgrade one building at a time.

You have several options for positioning defensive structures in order to avoid destroying your base during raids by other gamers. And all of them will be relatively correct. But when it comes to the sequence of building and upgrading, try to stick to our scheme. First, you’ll need the farm, which is pictured in the bottom middle of the screenshot below. This will be the first building you purchase. It should also be the first building you will upgrade.

The gameplay of the game is based on energy (in this case, food). In order to continue completing story and side quests on the campaign maps, you must replenish your food supply in a timely manner. Thus, our recommendation is that the farm should be prioritized over the rest of the buildings. Even the town center.

The town center is the second priority goal in Left to Survive. Without upgrading the center, you can’t improve the rest of the buildings. By the way, it’s not just about building new buildings or upgrading existing ones. The level of the city center is tied to the unlocking of weapons.

The third goal is the armory, which allows you to get the scrap metal needed to improve weapons. This applies to all weapons, including helicopter weapons. As you progress through the story and side quests in the campaign, you’ll need more advanced weapons. The presence of such will not be superfluous for those purposes that you set yourself in PvP-mode. But the main problem is that you don’t get scrap metal for completing quests.

The next goal on the priority list is the oil rig. You will need oil to upgrade the city center. On the story quest maps in Left to Survive, you can find many of the materials you need to create and improve things. However, you shouldn’t rely solely on this, so the next in line will be the factory. After that, you need to deal with storage and defensive structures (towers and turrets). Mining buildings can store a limited amount of created materials, so they will need to be collected and sent to the warehouse.

Survivors and their bonuses

Sooner or later you will find a survivor. Each survivor in Left to Survive has a certain talent. You can assign these people to certain buildings (one per building). The first survivor you get is an engineer. He can be placed in one of two buildings. Since the engineer will be found first, he should be placed on the farm according to the priority goals above. This will increase food production.

You will get other survivors either by completing story cards or by unlocking them through the in-game store. In the store, you can find out exactly how to get this or that survivor, where to look for their parts, and so on. Most people can be found when opening chests. If there is no information on the survivor on how to get it, it is not currently available (due to level or unfinished story chapters).

As mentioned above, each survivor has a specific talent. The engineer strengthens the building, so the farm and food production increases. For other, non-production buildings, strength may increase. Of course, in the early days of the game, production should be the priority!

Build on those resources that you have less of or can’t get any other way. Subsequently, the farm should remain a priority target for survivor housing. Increasing the strength of buildings is only relevant for base raids. But if the enemy has powerful weapons, all your efforts will go to waste. And production will remain at a low level. Therefore, only consider increasing your toughness if there are no other options available.

The story campaign as a basic earning tool

The campaign in Left to Survive is divided into main, side quests and bonus ones. When you unlock a region, you can download it from the web. On the one hand, the developers are trying not to load the device and keep the volume of the application to a minimum. On the other hand, you have to make several additional downloads.

Each individual level requires a specific type of weapon. In addition, you must meet the minimum power requirement of the weapon. In the screenshot above, you can see the location that requires a melee weapon (shotgun) to complete. You can see the requirements and rewards for successful completion. Also, this is the only level available in the area so far. For the other levels, the weapons are not sufficiently upgraded.

Above, we already talked about the need to improve the armory. And now you understand where the legs are growing from. You need scrap metal and money to upgrade weapons. Go through the story maps as soon as they become available. Don’t forget about the extra quests. If you have limited food, then choose the ones with the highest rewards.

Tips for upgrading your weapons

In Left to Survive, you’ll need to constantly upgrade your weapons to unlock the possibility of completing other story quests. You can upgrade your helicopter’s weapons. Do it as soon as the opportunity arises. It increases the chances of successful raids on enemy bases, and accordingly, increases profits.

First, you need to increase the size of the clip (magazine). This is true for the above screenshot and all other weapons. Indeed, the slower you run out of ammo, the better. The longer you shoot at an enemy, the faster you can destroy him. Damage may seem more important, but when you take too long to charge, it will be useless. So, first improve the size, reload time and then the damage.

Most weapons in Left to Survive improve in the same way. You still need to leave the rate of fire, the critical damage and the bullet’s dispersion last. If you have to choose between speed and critical damage, go with the first one. For example, thanks to the high rate of fire you will be able to shoot three bullets at the enemy, while he only shoots one. The more shots you fire, the faster you can do critical damage. Finally, dispersion allows you to concentrate the shotgun’s bullets in one point. That is, you will be able to do more damage in case of a targeted shot at the enemy.

Raiding enemy bases for resources

What good is having a base if you can’t attack it? In Left to Survive, it’s not just about raiding enemy bases, but also about repelling enemy offensives.

During the raid you will fly a helicopter around an enemy base, destroying the buildings and soldiers located there. Your goal is 100% destruction. Naturally, no one is waiting for you on a foreign base with open arms. You will be shot at by your enemies. Your helicopter will be constantly moving. You have no control over it. Pay attention to the fact that the machine gun overheats with time, so it is better to let it cool down beforehand, than to wait for the moment of complete overheating.

Don’t rush to blow up resource buildings first! Examine the base thoroughly. Regardless of what’s here, shoot the defensive structures (towers) first. They are the ones you need to expend missiles on. There will also be soldiers firing at you. You can kill them with your main weapon (machine gun). Watch where the bullets fly, take into account how the enemy and your helicopter moves to anticipate and shoot at the trajectory of movement. Hitting such targets is not always easy. When you kill the enemies, then deal with the rest of the buildings.

How to get stronger in PvP

In many PvP games your success depends on how much faster and more accurate you are than your opponents. In Left to Survive this statement is only partially true. Success depends on several factors. All things considered, PvP-mode is not just endless fun, but also a way to get a lot of things.

The first factor is equipment and gear. As you can see in the screenshot above, starting combat without first aid kits is a bad idea. However, you can get away with it if you move correctly and were able to wait for the first aid kit to appear during combat. As for weapon choices, it all depends on how far along you are in the game. You can go up against opponents who will have better weapons. There will be times when you will be up against an enemy with the worst.

It all depends on how well you move and navigate the map. For example, if you decide to look out from behind cover, you need to adjust the screen in advance so that you can immediately fire at the enemy. Even if you have adapted to a particular position and know how to properly aim at the enemy depending on his location, still do not forget about the constant movement. If you don’t move, you will eventually be killed by a grenade.

Also note that regardless of the cover you use and where the enemy is hiding, he can still hit you. Especially when it comes to wooden crates. Some objects can explode (barrels), others can be shot through.

Finally, it all depends on the speed and accuracy. And to be faster than your opponent, you can use different emulators for PC. This will make the gameplay smoother. Describe how to properly configure Android emulators on PC, we will not. There are many instructions on the Internet on this subject. If you want to be faster than your opponent, then consider using the mouse and keyboard. Be sure to tie the key to the reload.

PvP mode in Left to Survive requires patience. If you and your companion pause and linger in cover, often the enemy will not hold out and raise his head to attack you. However, you can’t wait too long. In 2vs2 mode try to stay away from each other. Otherwise the chance of getting damage from one grenade increases significantly.

Again, remember that you can not stay in the same place for a long time, otherwise the enemy will find a way to damage the character. If the enemy is focused on your partner and is trying to kill him, you can safely attack the enemy back. You will be surprised, but this happens very often, so predicting the enemies’ actions is easy.

How to get resources

The first tip is not to spend resources randomly or just because you feel like it. Even if you are a gamer who invests real money, you should not spend resources left and right.

The first example of poor resource allocation in Left to Survive is the crates. You shouldn’t spend gold and other currency on them. If you examine the rewards that the crates offer, you will realize that most of these items can be earned simply by playing Left to Survive. So you can safely save your gold here.

Another example is the purchase of consumables in the store. Most (almost all of them) can be found during the game. Moreover, you can do without some consumables!

Save consumables for certain game modes. For example, you shouldn’t use first-aid kits or grenades in the story campaign, because they will be much more useful in PvP-mode. Finally, try not to spend money to speed up construction or upgrades. If you don’t want to leave the game while improvements are being made, spend time on a few PvP battles.

You should also be selective with the weapons available in the game. It’s recommended to buy weapons that restore some of your character’s health points when killed. Check the effects each item offers before buying it.

Complete quests to obtain additional resources. If for any reason you feel you cannot complete a quest, we recommend skipping it and waiting for a new one to appear. Don’t waste time trying to speed up the timer for a new quest to appear. Instead, deal with the others.

Priority: killing specific zombies

As you progress through any level, there is a chance that you will be attacked by special zombies. These special enemies have unique abilities. And if you don’t kill the enemies quickly enough, they can even kill your hero within seconds.

Let’s list a few special enemies:

  • Bomber. Kill these enemies as quickly as possible without letting them get close to your hero. Upon death, this enemy explodes. If he is close to you, his health will be reduced to half of its maximum. Try to aim at the stomach (vulnerable spot) to deal extra damage.
  • Acid Fighter. Constantly spit at you. Aim for the head (vulnerable spot) to deal extra damage.
  • Jumper. one of the most annoying enemy types. Constantly jumps from place to place, which makes targeting fire difficult. Eventually jumps to your hero, attacks him a bit, and returns to the starting point. Either aim for the head or use a machete to destroy it.
  • Fatty. Slowly moves in your direction. Closer to you and begins to attack. Deals high damage. Aim for the head to deal extra damage.

How can I boost my hero’s base power?

There are a few ways to increase your base power:

  • Upgrade and buy better weapons. You’ll need scrap metal, which is obtained in the armory, and money (when passing levels on the story maps). Better weapons can be obtained inside the crates, using gold or by improving the city center.
  • Weapon Evolution. Requires special materials that can be obtained from unlockable crates.
  • Equipping and upgrading the equipment of the hero. Blue Ribbon is required for upgrades. New equipment and blue ribbon can be obtained from the crates.
  • Finding Survivors. You will find them from opening crates or when you complete the regions. Assign them to specific buildings.
  • Level up and get new heroes. You can level up your heroes by completing story quests, or by using special books. New heroes can be obtained from unlockable crates or for gold.

To upgrade/change weapons and equipment, go to the hero’s profile. To do this, click on the “human” icon in the upper left corner of the screen. Then click on the blue icon with the two circular arrows.

How do I get free gold?

There are several ways to get free gold:

  • Viewing videos. Click on the “video camera” icon at the bottom of the screen or on the can. Then click the “+” icon in the upper right corner of the screen, then click the “Watch Free Videos” tab.
  • Other ways. Click on the “+” icon by the gold at the top of the screen. Then click on “Get More Free.” You’ll be prompted to complete certain tasks by downloading the app or upgrade your hero to level 30 (or make an in-app purchase).

Where can I find promo codes?

Promo codes have a limited validity period, so it’s useless to look for them right now. The only option is to join the application group on Facebook and follow the news. From time to time, developers post Left to Survive promo codes for May 2024. Be sure to enter them before they expire!
