Fabled Game has just pulled the curtain back on Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage, and wow—there’s a lot to unpack. The brand-new gameplay trailer dropped in sync with its debut in Steam Next Fest, giving players a much-anticipated first taste of the action. Even better? A free PC demo will be available from June 9 to June 16, offering a solid slice of what’s to come.
The demo features the “Pirate Bay” region, where you can play as Gabi—a fierce new heroine with three distinct classes. Expect to mess around with over 150 cards, 50+ relics, three animal companions (yes, they come with their own cards), and 24 cosmetic items to mix and match. That’s a hefty serving of content for a demo, and honestly, it’s got deckbuilder fans buzzing.
The full game is sailing in hot sometime in 2025 for PC, iOS, and Android, with an expanded platform list to be revealed soon. We’ll also be seeing more of the game during the Summer Showcase 2025 on June 3, so keep your compass pointed that way if you want the latest updates.
For those unfamiliar with the series, Pirates Outlaws 2 is a card-based roguelike where each run feels fresh. You collect and combine cards, unlock powerful relics, and tweak your strategy every time you play. Beyond just battling standard foes, the game throws giant sea monsters your way—so strategy and adaptability are key.
What sets this sequel apart? Each hero has multiple classes, each with their own pre-built deck and signature ability. But here’s where it gets wild: hit up the in-game alchemy shop, down a magic elixir, and you can completely switch up a character’s abilities and card set. The sequel also introduces animal companions who can be recruited into your starting deck, each adding their own twist to your build.
It’s shaping up to be a big leap forward for the franchise—not just in scale but in creative freedom. Whether you’re into tactical card play, pirate lore, or just love watching a kraken ruin your day, this one’s got you covered.
